The Rochester-Campaspe Water Services Committee represents irrigation customers in the region, including from Echuca. It is bounded by Tennyson in the west, Echuca in the north, down to Rushworth and Rochester in the south.
GMW’s Rochester-Campaspe customers primarily use water for annual pasture and permanent pasture.
The Rochester-Campaspe WSC is chaired by Richard Anderson and consists of nine members in total.
A focus for the committee this year has been a promising start to the irrigation season, thanks to above average rain and higher inflows. The Connections Project continues to be a topic of interest for the committee and Rochester-Campaspe customers, as well as winter works, which have seen the replacement of four subways along the Waranga Western Channel, three occupational crossing and one road crossing as well as 4km of channel bank remodelling.
The committee has been pleased to be involved in payment options discussions with GMW this year, which has provided some flexibility for customers, particularly those in the dairy industry.
This year the committee thanks retiring member Ron Brooks, who has given 47 years of service to the committee and welcomes two new member’s, Stephen Randall and Andrew Christian.
