PUBLIC NOTICE

DECLARATION OF BOATING ACTIVITY EXEMPTION

I, David Jackson, Manager Recreation & Land of Goulburn-Murray Water, the waterway manager for Lake Eildon, declare under section 203(3) of the Marine Safety Act 2010 (Vic) that the slalom events proposed by Eildon Ski Club for the dates and times listed in Table 1 are exempt from:

1. The requirements to operate a vessel at a speed not exceeding 5 knots within 50 metres of another vessel, as detailed in clause 2(c) of the Notice under section 15(2) of the Marine Act 1988 (Vic);

2. The requirements of clause 90.1(t) (5 knot speed restriction zone) of Schedule 90 of the Notice under section 15(2) of the Marine Act 1988.

The exemptions apply to tow and support vessels participating in the Eildon Ski Club Inc slalom events at Jerusalem Creek Inlet for the dates and times listed in Table 1 at Lake Eildon, provided that all occupants of vessels involved in the event are wearing a personal flotation device at all times, and that the stated safety controls and undertakings detailed in the Application for Boating Activity Exemptions and Exclusion Zones are adhered to.

PUBLIC NOTICE

DECLARATION OF BOATING ACTIVITY EXEMPTION

Goulburn-Murray Water, the waterway manager for Lake Eildon and Eildon Pondage, declare under section 203(3) of the Marine Safety Act 2010 (Vic) that persons and vessels involved in the Eildon Classic wakeboard events proposed by Wakeboard Victoria, to be held on 16 January and 19 March 2016 are exempt from the requirements of:

Clause 90.2(a) of Schedule 90 (Lake Eildon and Eildon Pondage) in relation to the area prohibited to vessels.Clause 3(a) of the Notice under Section 15(2) of the Marine Act 1988 (Vic), 5 knots within 50 metres of the waters’ edge – provided vessels do not exceed 5 knots within 25 metres of the waters’ edge.

The exemptions apply to tow and support vessels participating in the Eildon Classic wakeboard events on the waters of Eildon Pondage between 7.30 am to 5.00 pm on 16 January and 19 March 2016 provided that the stated safety controls and undertakings detailed in the Application for Boating Activity Exemptions and Exclusion Zones are adhered to.
