A public meeting will seek community input on the review of the Loddon Highlands Water Supply Protection Area (WSPA) Groundwater Management Plan.
The Loddon Highlands WSPA extends from Newlyn, Waubra and Lexton in the south to Dunolly in the north, with more than 170 groundwater licence holders in this area.
The plan was approved by the Minister for Water in November 2012 to make sure that the groundwater resources are managed in an equitable manner and to ensure long term sustainability of those resources.
Goulburn-Murray Water (GMW) Manager Groundwater and Streams Matthew Pethybridge said the meeting will provide an opportunity for community members to discuss the success of the rules and ideas for improvement.
“We highly value the contribution the community has to make,” Mr Pethybridge said.
The meeting will take place at 10am on Tuesday October 17, 2017 at Newlyn Recreation Reserve, Midland Highway, Newlyn.
If you wish to discuss the review of the Groundwater Management Plan please phone Brendan Cossens at GMW on (03) 5475 3907.
